இன்றுநன்று நாளைநன் றென்றுநின்ற விச்சையால்
பொன்றுகின்ற வாழ்க்கையைப் போகவிட்டுப் போதுமின்
மின்றயங்கு சோதியான் வெண்மதி விரிபுனல்
கொன்றைதுன்று சென்னியான் கோடிகாவு சேர்மினே

அல்லன்மிக்க வாழ்க்கையை யாதரித் திராதுநீர்
நல்லதோர் நெறியினை நாடுதுந் நடம்மினோ
வில்லையன்ன வாணுதல் வெள்வளையொர் பாகமாங்
கொல்லைவெள்ளை யேற்றினான் கோடிகாவு சேர்மினே.

துக்கமிக்க வாழ்க்கையின் சோர்வினைத் துறந்துநீர்
தக்கதோர் நெறியினைச் சார்தல்செய்யப் போதுமின்
அக்கணிந் தரைமிசை யாறணிந்த சென்னிமேல்
கொக்கிற கணிந்தவன் கோடிகாவு சேர்மினே

பண்டுசெய்த வல்வினை பற்றறக் கெடும்வகை
உண்டுமக் குரைப்பனா னொல்லை நீ ரெழுமினோ
மண்டுகங்கை செஞ்சடை வைத்துமாதொர் பாகமாக்
கொண்டுகந்த மார்பினான் கோடிகாவு சேர்மினே.

முன்னைநீர்செய் பாவத்தான் மூர்த்திபாதஞ் சிந்தியா
தின்னநீரி டும்பையின் மூழ்கிறீ ரெழும்மினோ
பொன்னைவென்ற கொன்றையான் பூதம்பாட வாடலான்
கொன்னவிலும் வேலினான் கோடிகாவு சேர்மினே.

ஏவமிக்க சிந்தையோ டின்பமெய்த லாமெனப்
பாவமெத் தனையுநீர் செய்தொரு பயனிலைக்
காவன்மிக்க மாநகர் காய்ந்துவெங் கனல்படக்
கோவமிக்க நெற்றியான் கோடிகாவு சேர்மினே.

ஏணழிந்த வாழ்க்கையை யின்பமென் றிருந்துநீர்
மாணழிந்த மூப்பினால் வருந்தன்முன்னம் வம்மினோ
பூணல்வெள் ளெலும்பினான் பொன்றிகழ் சடைமுடிக்
கோணல்வெண் பிறையினான் கோடிகாவு சேர்மினே.

மற்றிவாழ்க்கை மெய்யெனும் மனத்தினைத் தவிர்ந்துநீர்
பற்றிவாழ்மின் சேவடி பணிந்துவந் தெழுமினோ
வெற்றிகொள் தசமுகன் விறல்கெட விருந்ததோர்
குற்றமில் வரையினான் கோடிகாவு சேர்மினே.

மங்குநோ யுறும்பிணி மாயும்வண்ணஞ் சொல்லுவன்
செங்கண்மால் திசைமுகன் சென்றளந்துங் காண்கிலா
வெங்கண்மால் விடையுடை வேதியன் விரும்புமூர்
கொங்குலாம் வளம்பொழிற் கோடிகாவு சேர்மினே.

தட்டொடு தழைமயிற் பீலிகொள் சமணரும்
பட்டுடை விரிதுகிலி னார்கள்சொற் பயனிலை
விட்டபுன் சடையினான் மேதகும் முழவொடும்
கொட்டமைந்த வாடலான் கோடிகாவு சேர்மினே.

கொந்தணி குளிர்பொழிற் கோடிகாவு மேவிய
செந்தழ லுருவனைச் சீர்மிகு திறலுடை
அந்தணர் புகலியு ளாயகேள்வி ஞானசம்
பந்தன தமிழ்வல்லார் பாவமான பாறுமே.

People of this world!) with the standing desire, thinking Today is good;
tomorrow is good` go giving up this life which will not be permanent.
Civaṉ has a lustre that shines like lightning Reach Kōṭikāvu which is the abode of Civaṉ on whose head a white crescent spreading water (of the Kaṅkai) and flowers of koṉṟai are close to one another

(People of this world!) without wishing for this life in which sufferings are great.
Let us seek a good path;
you come along with me.
you reach Kōṭikāvu of the god who has a white bull of the forest tract and who has as a half a lady who wears white bangles and has a forehead like the bow.

(People of this world!) renouncing the languishing nature of the worldly life which is for the most part full of sufferings you go to be near to the path which is proper Having worn on the waist chank beads you reach Kōṭikāvu of Civaṉ who wore on his head on which there is a river (Kaṅkai) and a flower resembling the crane`s father

(people of this world!) there is a way to destroy the irresistible actions done in previous births without even the trace of their existence I shall tell you you start quickly you reach Kōṭikāvu belonging to Civaṉ who has on his chest with gladness a lady, having placed on his red catai Kaṅkai which is rushing

(People of this world) without bestowing your thoughts on the feet of Civaṉ of a beautiful form, due to the sins committed in your previous births you are still sinking in the ocean of sufferings;
you rise Civaṉ who wears flowers of koṉṟai which are superior to gold in colour.
who dances when the pūtams sing you reach Kōtikāvu of Civaṉ who holds a trident which strikes fear.

(people of this world!) There is no use in committing all the sins enumerated in works by exhausting them;
with a mind full of evil thoughts, thinking, we can enjoy happiness` Having destroyed by his anger the great cities of very great protection.
Reach Kōṭikāvu of Civaṉ who has an eye in the forehead from which hot fire started out of anger.

thinking that this life which is without any greatness, is happy (people of this world!) you come along with me before you suffer due to old age which has lost all its charms.
Civaṉ whose ornaments are white bones reach Kōtīkāvu belonging to him who wears curved crescent on his caṭai coiled into a crown which shines like gold

(People of this world!) giving up the idea that this earthly life is real and permanent you live catching hold of the red feet of the Lord.
rise bowing (before his feet) you reach Kōṭikāvu of Civaṉ who has a faultless mountain on which he sat to destroy the strength of Irāvaṇaṉ of ten faces who was victorious formerly

(People of this world!) I shall tell you the way by which the bondage of birth which is the cause for the diseases to afflict the body, to disappear.
the place that is desired by Civaṉ, the Vētiyaṉ who has a big bull of cruel looks, and who was not found out by the red-eyed Māl and Piramaṉ though they went digging the earth and flying high in the sky respectively.
reach Kōṭikāvu which has fertile gardens from which fragrance is moving about.

(You) cannot profit by the words of camaṇar who hold in their hands a bundle of luxuriant peacock feathers and mats to sit on, and the buddhists who cover their bodies with unfolded robes of silk;
(People of this world) reach Kōṭikavu of the performer of dance which is appropriate to the beating of the eminent muḻavu, and has hanging caṭai

about Civaṉ who has a body like the red fire, and who dwells willingly in Kōtikāvu which has cool gardens made beautiful by bunches of flowers the sins of those who are able to recite the tamiḻ verses of Nyanacampantaṉ who has acquired knowledge of listening to words of wisdom, in Pukali of brahmins whose strength is preeminent, will be destroyed.
