சலம்பூவொடு தூபம் மறந்தறியேன் தமிழோடிசை பாடல் மறந்தறியேன்
நலந்தீங்கிலும் உன்னை மறந்தறியேன் உன்னாமம்என் னாவில் மறந்தறியேன்
உலந்தார்தலை யிற்பலி கொண்டுழல்வாய் உடலுள்ளுறு சூலை தவிர்த்தருளாய்
அலந்தேன்அடி யேன்அதி கைக்கெடில வீரட்டா னத்துறை அம்மானே.

I do not know I forgot to worship you with water, flowers and fragrant incense.
I never forget to sing your praises contained in Tamil and singing music.
I never forgot you in prosperity and adversity.
I never forgot to utter your names which are superior, in my tongue which is very low.
you wander to receive alms in the skull of people who died be gracious enough to cure me of the arthritis which is inside my body.
I your slave, suffered much due to that.

பொள்ளத்த காய மாயப் பொருளினைப் போக மாதர்
வெள்ளத்தைக் கழிக்க வேண்டில் விரும்புமின் விளக்குத் தூபம்
உள்ளத்த திரியொன் றேற்றி யுணருமா றுணர வல்லார்
கள்ளத்தைக் கழிப்பர் போலுங் கடவூர்வீ ரட்ட னாரே.

பூசனை யீச னார்க்குப் போற்றவிக் காட்டி னோமே.

the body is the temple.
the mind which has driven all bad and evil thoughts is the slave.
truthfulness is purity.
the catti is the ilinkam.
bathing profusely and suitably like water having love only as ghee and milk.
we offered to Civan who is worshipped, the offering of praises.

kaayamae koayi laakak kadimana madimai yaaka
vaaymaiyae thooymai yaaka manama'ni yilingka maaka
:naeyamae :neyyum paalaa :ni'raiya:nee ramaiya vaaddip

எட்டு நாண்மலர் கொண்டவன் சேவடி
மட்ட லரிடு வார்வினை மாயுமால்
கட்டித் தேன்கலந் தன்ன கெடிலவீ
ரட்ட னாரடி சேரு மவருக்கே.

those who approach the feet of Virattanar on the bank of the river Ketilam, who is as sweet as the jaggery mixed with honey;

their acts, good and bad, will perish
The eight flowers are:
1 mast woodtree

2 white yarcum

3 Champak

4 east indian rosebay

5 yellow-flowered fragrant trumpet flowers,

6 blue nelumbo flowers,

7 oleandar,

8 red lotus.

The eight virtues which are considered equal to flowers for mental worship are the following:
1 non-killing,
2 control of the five senses,
3 patience,
4 grace,
5 knowledge,
6 truthfulness,
7 penance,
8 love.
