எட்டுத் திசையும் எறிகின்ற காற்றொடு
வட்டத் திரையனல் மாநிலம் ஆகாயம்
ஒட்டி உயிர்நிலை என்னும்இக் காயப்பை
கட்டி அவிழ்ப்பன் கண்ணுதல் காணுமே.

விடையுடை யான்விகிர் தன்மிகு பூதப்
படையுடை யான்பரி சேஉல காக்கும்
கொடையுடை யான்குணம் எண்குண மாகும்
சடையுடை யான்சிந்தை சார்ந்துநின் றானே.

உகந்துநின் றேபடைத் தான்உல கேழும்
உகந்துநின் றேபடைத் தான்பல ஊழி
உகந்துநின் றேபடைத் தான்ஐந்து பூதம்
உகந்துநின் றேஉயிர் ஊன்படைத் தானே.

படைத்துடை யான்பண் டுலகங்கள் ஏழும்
படைத்துடை யான்பல தேவரை முன்னே
படைத்துடை யான்பல சீவரை முன்னே
படைத்துடை யான்பர மாகிநின் றானே.

ஆதி படைத்தனன் ஐம்பெரும் பூதம்
ஆதி படைத்தனன் ஆசில்பல் ஊழி

ஆரும் அறியாத அண்டத் திருவுருப்
பார்முத லாகப் பயிலுங் கடத்திலே
நீரினிற் பால்போல நிற்கின்ற நேர்மையைச்
சோராமற் காணுஞ் சுகம்அறிந் தேனே.

Of yore He created celestials countless
Of yore He created species numberless
He who of yore created all
Himself stood as Primal Param Uncreated.

The primal One created the elements five;
The primal One created the endless aeons past;
The primal One created the countless heavenly beings,
The primal One created the and sustained as well.

He is the light within
He is the body without
The precious object,
beloved of immortals above,

சலமுடைய சலந்தரன்றன்
    உடல்தடிந்த நல்லாழி
நலமுடைய நாரணற்கன்

    நயனம்இடந் தரனடிக்கீழ்
அலராக இடஆழி
    அருளினன்காண் சாழலோ.

O friend,
of yore He slit the body of puissant Salandaran With a sprocket wheel.
What made Him gift it Graciously to Naarayana blessed with weal?
As Naarayana blessed with weal gouged an eye Of his and offered it as a flower in his worship,
At the feet of Hara,
He in grace gifted it,
Chaazhalo !

Thirumurai 2.48.7

சக்கரமாற் கீந்தானுஞ் சலந்தரனைப் பிளந்தானும்
அக்கரைமே லசைத்தானும் அடைந்தயிரா வதம்பணிய
மிக்கதனுக் கருள்சுரக்கும் வெண்காடும் வினைதுரக்கும்
முக்குளநன் குடையானு முக்கணுடை யிறையவனே.

the Lord who gave the discus(chakram) to Mal(Vishnu) who tied round his waist bones.
and who has the good three tanks - which drive away sins and Veṇkāṭu which showered
grace in an abundant measure when the white-coloured elephant by name
Ayirāvatam reached that place and worshipped the Lord is the Lord who has three eyes.

Thirumurai 3.109.6

சக்கரம் வேண்டுமால் பிரமன்காணா
மிக்கவர் கயிலை மயேந்திரரும்
தக்கனைத் தலையரி தழலுருவர்
அக்கணி யவராரூ ரானைக்காவே.

superior person who could not be seen by Mal(Vishnu) who got a discus on request, and by
Piramaṉ who is in Kayilai and Mayēṉtiram who has a body like fire and who cut off the head of
Takkaṉ who has as his ornaments uruttirākkam is in Ārūr and Āṉaikkā .

Thirumurai 9.29.9

பாலுக்குப் பாலகன் வேண்டி அழுதிடப்
    பாற்கடல் ஈந்தபிரான்
மாலுக்குச் சக்கரம் அன்றருள் செய்தவன்
    மன்னிய தில்லைதன்னுள்
ஆலிக்கும் அந்தணர் வாழ்கின்ற சிற்றம்
    பலமே இடமாகப்
பாலித்து நட்டம் பயிலவல் லானுக்கே
    பல்லாண்டு கூறுதுமே.

When Upamanyu, son of sage Vyagrapada
Cried for milk getting it not, Lord pooled
The lactic sea and once upon a time
He endowed the fair Maal with divine Discus;
Holding Mystic Tillai spatium ever
As His prime Dais for Andanars to gaze
He dances the Dance gracing us. Blessed May we
Hail our Lord to abide Eternal Eons.

Thirumurai 10.2.2.4

எங்கும் கலந்தும்என் உள்ளத் தெழுகின்ற
அங்க முதல்வன் அருமறை யோதிபாற்
பொங்குஞ் சலந்தரன் போர்செய்ய நீர்மையின்
அங்கு விரற்குறித் தாழிசெய் தானே.

The Lord pervades all,
My heart too He fills with joy;
He spoke the Vedas and scriptures all;
Him the haughty Jalandhara challenged in duel
And the Lord with his toe marked a circle
And into it He saw the monster`s final end.

Thirumurai 10.2.6.1

மால்போ தகனென்னும் வண்மைக்கிங் காங்காரங்
கால்போதங் கையினோ டந்தரச் சக்கரம்
மேல்போக வெள்ளி மலைஅம ரர்பதி
பார்போக மேழும் படைத்துடை யானே.

Filled with arrogance as Guru Supreme
Mal vaunted his egoism about;
Then the Lord of the Silver Mountain made the discus fly away
And it orbited around the seven worlds.

Thirumurai 10.2.6.2

சக்கரம் பெற்றுநல் தாமோ தரன்தானும்
சக்கரந் தன்னைத் தரிக்கவொண் ணாமையால்
மிக்கரன் தன்னை விருப்புடன் அற்சிக்கத்
தக்கநற் சத்தியைத் தான்கூறு செய்ததே.

He bestowed on Damodara(Vishnu) the divine discus,
But potent for was it for him to hold
And so he prayed to the Lord in fervour
And the Lord split its power in twain.

Thirumurai 10.2.6.3

கூறது வாகக் குறித்தநற் சக்கரம்
கூறது செய்து கொடுத்தனன் மாலுக்குக்
கூறது செய்து கொடுத்தனன் சத்திக்குக்
கூறது செய்து தரித்தனன் கோலமே.

The Lord splits His power into two,
One half He gave to Vishnu as a chakra,
And the other half as body to Sakti,
And thus He remains.

Thirumurai 10.2.6.4

தக்கன்றன் வேள்வி தகர்த்தநல் வீரர்பால்
தக்கன்றன் வேள்வியில் தாமோ தரன்தானுஞ்
சக்கரந் தன்னைச் சசிமுடி மேல்விட
வக்கி உமிழ்ந்தது வாயுக் கிரத்திலே.

At the crescent-decked head of Veerabhadra
That destroyed the depraved sacrifice of Daksha,
Damodara(Vishnu) aimed his discus;
And then the doughty Lord sent forth a sneeze;
And lo!
A gusty tempest blew
And down fell discus powerless against God Supreme.

சக்கரத்தால் ஈர்ந் தரிதன் தாமரைக்கண் சாத்துதலும்
மிக்கஃதன் றீந்த விறல்போற்றி அக்கணமே

With discus destroyed him; That Maal offered
His eye as flower to your feet for the triumph.

Lunar Astrology



What is lunar astrology ?

Lunar astrology is about analyzing the horoscope with a special focus on the signficance of moon in the natal chart, and how that moon continues to produce effects on the natal chart with its constant movement throughout the zodiac.

How to track the lunar transit with our chart ?

There are various ways. But primarily, "track" the effects as may seen in your daily life as the moon moves around the chart and "triggers" or "strikes" each and every planet during that journey. Use an ephemeris to determine these constant movements and strikes, and be diligent about the events that happen during or very close to that time in the real world.

What event can be seen from this tracking ?

The depends on the "stories" that each of the triggered planets in the different charts have to tell. If you don't first know the stories capable of being produced intrinsically by each planet in the chart, then you cannot "project a story" into fruition during the "strikes". The strike merely helps to "bring out" the story into the real world. Tracking the moon gives you a monthly opportunity to see how every bit of your horoscope will behave and what kind of results it will yield.

There is no doubt to rule over Sivalokam after death

Golden gifts.
A devotee of his is celebrated under the name of Kol-puli-Nayanar. At his earnest request Sundarar visited him and was received with extraordinary pomp, the chieftain bringing out his two daughters, whom he presents to him to be his slaves. The saint receives them with the words 'They shall be my daughters', and in the kindliest manner conversed with them and gave them presents. The incident throws light upon the habits and feelings of the time. From thence Sundarar returned home, and found that Paravaiyar was, as usual, in want of supplies, and the more so as a great feast was at hand. Accordingly he set out to the town of Pugalur and going to the temple implored the assistance of the god, and afterwards retiring to the neighbouring monastery (or choultry), gathered together some bricks which had been brought in for repairs, and piled them up as a kind of pillow, spreading over them his upper garment. He thus went to sleep, and when he awoke, behold! the bricks were gold, a wonderful circumstance which he commemorated in a suitable ode.


Greatness of Thirupugalur Temple 
This is the sacred land where Saint Tirunavukkarasar respectfully known as Appar Adigal attained salvation after serving the Lord by cleaning Shiva temple grounds and paths to enable devotees to walk comfortably with an instrument in his hands called Uzhavaram.  This land is praised as Salvation Centre.  Appar festival begins 10 days before Chithirai Sadayam Star dayin April-May.  The events includes his home coming from the Jains, the greatness of his Uzhavaram, dance of Deva women and his merging with Lord at the midnight of the fourth day festival.  Every devotee would be moved to see this episode only with tears in his/her eyes.

There are two shrines in the same temple for Saint Appar Adigal and Saint Sundarar.  Lord Agnipureeswar (Swayambumurthi), also praised as Sharanyapureeswarar, Pratyaksha Varadar and Konapiran is gracing devotees from a shrine.  Mother Karundhar Kuzhali, also praised as Sulikambal blesses devotees from other shrine.  Lord Vardamaneswarar and Mother Manonmani are in a separate shrine.  Muruga Nayanar served Lord Vardamaneswara by preparing garlands for Him.

This is also the place where Agni Bhagwan worshipped Lord Shiva and got relieved from a curse.  Though he has no form as such, he appears here with two faces, 7 hands, 7 jwala sparks, four horns and 3 feet.  This is a rare Agni Bhagwan idol.

Lord changed the bricks into gold bars for Saint Sundarar in this holy place.  Those building new houses bring bricks to the temples for vasthu and bhoomi puja to make the new building all prosperous.  Also, Mother Karundhar Kuzhali was gifted with a piece of land for her services to a woman in labour pain and is praised as Sulikambal.  There is no and will not be any infant or maternal mortality in this place, a belief people strongly hold.

The temple has a single shrine for Emperor Nala and Sani Bhagwan in the temple.  After Nala came out of a bath from the Bana Theertha, a voice from Sani Bhagwan said that He would leave the king from his adverse aspects at Tirunallar 7 km far from this place.  Saturn-Sani Bhagwan is this temple is praised as Anugraha Sani – merciful Sani.

The grace of Mother Karundhar Kuzhali towards Her devotees is boundless.  Sool in Tamil means pregnancy.  As She took care of a woman during her labour time and ensured safe delivery of the child, She is praised as Sulikambal.  Women strongly believe that nothing untoward would happen to them or the child as they under the direct grace of Mother Sulikambal.  People pray to Her offering vastras for child boon. 
Three Murthis in the temple, Bhoodeshwarar, Varthamaneswarar and Bhavishyeswarar are the symbols of past, present and future.  This is the birth place of Muruga Nayanar who worshipped Varthamaneswarar offering garlands made by him.  He has three faces – human, bird and a swine.  As devas sought asylum here for protection from the threats of demons, the place is also praised as Pugazhoor.

Vasthu purity is an important basis for constructing buildings.  This is a science that deals with the designing of the apartments in a particular direction – Kitchen, bathrooms, main hall, bedrooms etc. – at appropriate sides.  This would avoid any invisible troubles entering then.This is a temple noted for Vasthu prayer.  Before beginning the construction, people use to bring the bricks to the temple, perform archanas and take them back for the building work.

    புகலூர் பாடுமின் புலவீர்காள்
ஆணி யாய்அம ருலகம் ஆள்வதற்
    கியாதும் ஐயுற வில்லையே.

நரைகள் போந்துமெய் தளர்ந்து மூத்துடல்
    நடுங்கி நிற்கும்இக் கிழவனை
வரைகள் போல்திரள் தோள னேயென்று
    வாழ்த்தி னுங்கொடுப் பாரிலை
புரைவெள் ளேறுடைப் புண்ணி யன்புக
    லூரைப் பாடுமின் புலவீர்காள்
அரைய னாய்அம ருலகம் ஆள்வதற்
    கியாதும் ஐயுற வில்லையே.

வஞ்ச நெஞ்சனை மாச ழக்கனைப்
    பாவி யைவழக் கில்லியைப்
பஞ்ச துட்டனைச் சாது வேயென்று
    பாடி னுங்கொடுப் பாரிலை
பொன்செய் செஞ்சடைப் புண்ணி யன்புக
    லூரைப் பாடுமின் புலவீர்காள்
நெஞ்சில் நோயறுத் துஞ்சு போவதற்

    நரைத்த மாந்தனை யிளையனே
குலமி லாதானைக் குலவ னேயென்று

    லூரைப் பாடுமின் புலவீர்காள்
அலம ராதம ருலக மாள்வதற்

Meaning of this pathigam
Poets!
though you speak flattering words praising them.
and though you are always by their side.
without praising the hypocrites who are a bundle of lies and who are slaves to worldly pleasures.
praise the greatness of pukalūr of our father.
he will supply you in this birth itself plenty of food and clothing.
you can increase your fame.
the perishing of sufferings will also take place.
there is not the slightest doubt to rule in civalōkam after death.

Poets!
even though you praise one who has no strength as vīmaṉ.
even though you praise one this person is victorious Vicayaṉ himself in archery.
even though you praise one who does not give anything he is pāri himself in liberality there is no one who will give you what you want.
sing the fame of pukalūr of our god who is the embodiment of all virtues and has a body smeared with holy ash.
there will not be the slightest doubt to rule in the world of the celestials which is above the pile of several worlds.

poets!
even if you praise a person who has no landed property, he has extensive lands as his possession!
he is learned and has good conduct.
protecting Kinsmen and relations.
even though you praise he will be hospitable to guests there is no one who will give you anything you want.
sing the fame of cool pukalūr where the birds in the fields make a big noise when the farmers yoke the oxen and plough the fields.
there is not the slightest doubt for you to rule over the heaven residing there as linch-pin to the cart of that world.

hairs having turned grey all over the body.
the body having become decrepit.
having senility in an advanced stage.
there is no one who will give anything even though you bless this old man whose legs are quivering with old age, as one who possesses globular shoulders as strong as the mountain.
sing the praises of pukalūr which is the abode of Civaṉ who is the embodiment of all virtues and who has a superior white bull.
there is not the slightest doubt to rule over the heaven having become its King

Marriage


Q1. The time when a person is likely to marry is generally indicated by transits or the combinations of the planet ?

Answer: 
First, the provision for the event must first be determined.
