009 திருவரிசிற்கரைப்புத்தூர்

அகத்தடி மைசெய்யும் அந்தணன்றான்
    அரிசிற்புனல் கொண்டுவந் தாட்டுகின்றான்
மிகத்தளர் வெய்திக் குடத்தையும்நும்
    முடிமேல்விழுத் திட்டு நடுங்குதலும்
வகுத்தவ னுக்குநித் தற்படியும்
    வரும்என்றொரு காசினை நின்றநன்றிப்
புகழ்த்துணை கைப்புகச் செய்துகந்தீர்
    பொழிலார்திருப் புத்தூர்ப் புனிதனீரே

சோலைகள் நிறைந்த திருப்புத்தூரில் எழுந்தருளியுள்ள புனிதரே, நீர், உமக்கு அகத்தொண்டு செய்யும் அந்தணர் ஒருவர் தம் நியமப்படி ஒருநாள் அரிசிலாற்றின் நீரைக் கொணர்ந்து உமக்கு ஆட்டுகின்றவர், பசியினால் மிகவும் உடல் மெலிவடைந்து, நீர்க் குடத்தையும் உமது முடியின் மேல் நழுவி விழவிட்டு, அப்பிழைக்காக நடுக்கமுற, நீர் அவரது கனவில் தோன்றி, ` அன்பனே, நீ அறியாதவாறு உன்னால் நிகழ்ந்த பிழையை நினைந்து வருந்தற்க `, ` உன் உடல் மெலிவிற்குக் காரணமான இவ்வற்கடம் நீங்குங்காறும், நாள்தோறும் உனக்குப் படியாக ஒரு காசும் கிடைக்கும் ` என்று அருளிச் செய்து, நாள்தோறும் ஒரு பொற்காசினை வற்கடத்திலும் தவறாது நிலைபெற்ற திருத்தொண்டினைச் செய்த அப்புகழ்த்துணையாரது கையிற் சேரும் படி செய்து, அவரை ஆட்கொண்டருளினீர்.
